The CID System for Concept
نویسنده
چکیده
In this paper, we present the CID system for learning concepts from a set of examples. These examples are represented as conjunctions of attributes and their values that may be precise or not completely deened. We propose a data representation to take into account struc-tured attributes and values that may be 'impossible', 'un-known' or 'imprecise'. Lattice of fuzzy qualiiers are used to modelize this kind of information. A concept will be characterized by its extension: the set of observations that belong to the concept and its intension: the list of attribute-values related to the concept. Given a set of observations, the CID system clusters them into homogeneous groups and forms a lattice concepts. Results from Galois connexion theory are used by the clustering algorithm which is incremental. It is easy to update the set of concepts when new observations are available. Application of the CID system on sponge data from marine biology domain is presented. The CID system is implemented in C++.

CID: An Optically Tracked Configurable Interaction Device
We present CID: a new, configurable, interaction device that enables a user to manipulate a large number of application parameters, using a single, compact device. An interface designer is able to create new configurations of CID by selecting a base object and attaching actuators to it. Actuators provide a combination of translational and rotational degrees of freedom, and define interaction re...
متن کاملSystem based practice: a concept analysis
Introduction: Systems-Based Practice (SBP) is one of the sixcompetencies introduced by the ACGME for physicians toprovide high quality of care and also the most challenging of themin performance, training, and evaluation of medical students. This concept analysis clarifies the concept of SBP by identifyingits components to make it possible to differentiate it from othersimilar concepts. For prop...
متن کاملMethodology of conceptual review in the health system
Background: Conceptual review is a creative research method for generating new knowledge in the context of a vague and complex concept that helps to explain and clarify the concept, its components and its relation to related concepts. This study aimed to explain the methodology of conceptual review in the health system. Methods: Articles related to the conceptual research method were searched ...
متن کاملExtraction of chemical-induced diseases using prior knowledge and textual information
We describe our approach to the chemical-disease relation (CDR) task in the BioCreative V challenge. The CDR task consists of two subtasks: automatic disease-named entity recognition and normalization (DNER), and extraction of chemical-induced diseases (CIDs) from Medline abstracts. For the DNER subtask, we used our concept recognition tool Peregrine, in combination with several optimization st...
متن کاملThe Comparison of Solubility and Release of Fluoride from Easthetic Restorative Materials in Water and Acid: An In Vitro Study
Background & Aims: Secondary caries is one of the most common problems in restorative dentistry. The release of flouride ions could substantially benefit the tooth enamel and neigboring dentin because flourid can combat caries. The purpose of this in vitro study was to evaluate the solubility rate and release of fluoride from tooth-colored restorative materials (Iono CID, Fuji II LC, FugiIX, Fu...
